ChiRock is my response to the potential name for a major motion picture about the violence plaguing Chicago today. Although poverty, violence and the absence of viable employment options is ever-present in Chicago neighborhoods, positive messages are vital in the conversation about the Second City. ChiRock represents the people who treat each other with respect, the communities that bounce back from set-backs and the city with a rich culture and history. The individual rocks are the people that make up a strong, unified, beautiful community. We challenge everyone to strive to help those in need and spread positive messages, especially though media and art.
