Fulfilling a Girl’s Dream

Fulfilling a Girl’s Dream

Fulfilling a Girl’s Dream

For 17 years, a tradition has developed in the North-western province of India called Samuh Lagna which translates to “collective wedding.” Each year, families from the community volunteer to sponsor weddings for about 25 couples that otherwise could not afford a wedding. Brides are dressed in beautiful saris, a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony is performed, and food is served for all couples and their families drawing up to 10,000 guests to the village each year. The event brings to life the childhood dream wedding to each bride who may not have had the opportunity to do so otherwise.

A beautiful, simply good story on how giving can provide hope to our world.
